Our program, specifically for high school students, provides an introduction to the fashion design process, from conception to garment completion. The curriculum is a taste of SFD’s adult certificate program and is taught by our expert faculty. If you are interested in fashion and sewing as a hobby or are considering post-secondary fashion degree programs, this is the program for you!
Our high school program is for students currently enrolled in high school grades 9-12.

A continuation of our Pre-College Workshop in Fashion Design for students who have completed an SFD pre-college session and are looking to gain new skills in fashion art, sewing and garment construction. Students who participate in fashion design programs in their high schools are also eligible to participate.

The curriculum is designed to take you from design to finished product with no prior experience necessary. Students will get an overview of the entire process while walking away with a strong foundation of skills. Whether you're a fashionista or want a career in fashion, this is the course for you!

Pre-College in-person program (45 class hrs): $975
Plus $125 supplies
A $25 nonrefundable registration fee will also be applied for both programs.

Earn your Junior Certificate in Fashion Design with SFD
Are you a high school senior considering taking a gap year? Are you interested in exploring if fashion design is right for you?
The School of Fashion Design offers a Junior Certificate in Fashion Design for high school graduates seeking a creative gap year experience.
The SFD Fashion Gap Year consists of six courses taken over the course of nine months, September – May.
