    FALL 2026 ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT

    GENERAL SFD POLICIES

    SFD Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Violence, and Retaliation

    School policies cover expectations of conduct, grading and attendance policies, and others. The tuition agreement includes payment schedule and refund policy. By signing up for a course at SFD, you agree to these policies.

    Anti-Discrimination Policy:
    The School of Fashion Design does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, the appointment to and termination from its Board of Directors, hiring and firing of staff or contractors, selection of volunteers, selection of vendors, and providing of services.

    Disabilities Act Statement:
    The School of Fashion Design is committed to providing equal access to the educational experience for all students in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, and to providing all reasonable academic accommodations and adjustments. Any student requiring accommodation should speak with the instructor so that appropriate accommodations can be explored.

  • When classes are in session, students are welcome to use empty and available SFD classrooms to complete their homework. Students are not permitted to be on the 2nd floor outside of posted hours.

    Please clean up and put away your fabric, patterns and supplies.
    The building hours this semester as follows: (Unless you are in class after)

    Monday 8:30am to 8:00pm
    Tuesday                8:30am to 9:00pm
    Wednesday         8:30am to 8:00pm
    Thursday              8:30am to 9:00pm
    Friday                    9:00am to 4:00pm   
    Saturday              Closed
    Sunday                 Closed

    NOTES:
    Students may come up to the second floor earlier. They would just need to wait for the administrative staff/faculty to come in and unlock classrooms. Remember to bring your ID with you to access the building. The front desk staff will not let anyone up to the second floor without an ID.

  • Description tIn-person classes are held at 31 St. James Ave. 2nd Floor, Boston, MA in the Park Square Building.

    The school is around the corner from the Arlington stop on the Green Line and a couple of blocks away from the Back Bay Stop on the Orange Line and commuter rail.

    SFD does not provide parking, although there are paid garages in the neighborhood.
    The School of Fashion Design has partnered with two local parking garages:
    Motor Mart Garage and 200 Stuart Street Garage to offer a daily discounted rate to SFD students and faculty.

    SFD Discounted Daily Parking Rates for 200 Stuart Street Garage and Motor Mart Garage:

    Monday – Friday daily rate: $17
    Evening and Weekend rate: $10
    Over 12 hours rate: $27

    Parking for 12+ hours will result in an increased parking rate.

  • Most supplies are not provided by the school. In some cases there is a supply fee on top of tuition for items that students will not be able to acquire on their own.

    It is the student’s responsibility to have the required supplies for the first day of class.

    Recommended optional supplies and retailers can be found in the Student Resources and Orientation course on Coassemble.

    We use the Coassemble online learning platform for many of our classes.

    Your essential guide to thriving at SFD: Stay punctual, be prepared, practice diligently, and respect shared spaces and resources. With clear expectations and helpful tips, this document ensures a productive and inspiring learning environment for all students.

  • Boost your fashion design career with a hands-on internship! Apply your skills in pattern-making, garment construction, and CAD while working alongside industry professionals. Gain real-world experience, learn production workflows, and troubleshoot design challenges, all while earning academic credits for your SFD Certificate in Fashion Design. Internships may be paid or unpaid and offer valuable networking opportunities for future career growth. The program includes regular check-ins with faculty, an orientation, and an evaluation.
