Jo Somers was the Founder and former President of Copley Seven Models & Talent, former instructor and Trustee of the School of Fashion Design, long time Bay Village resident, and a celebrated Boston fashion icon.
Jo championed so many young designers and students, while also championing SFD through her teaching, board leadership and friendship.
In 2014, Jo was awarded the School of Fashion Design Isobel S. Sinesi Lifetime Achievement in Fashion award. Jo also established this Jo Somers Bay Village Scholarship, which continues to support aspiring SFD student designers to this day.
Your donation to this named fund supports scholarships & student services, including supplies and career services. We award one scholarship per year.

SFD students come from all over New England, with a wide range of educational and professional backgrounds, unique points of view, and aspirations. SFD is their first step on the path to their dream of becoming a fashion designer. Fashion design takes hard work and commitment, and they need our support to succeed. SFD students rely exclusively on the generosity of our alumni and friends in the community to provide scholarships, student experiences, and outside the classroom support.
As a small, nonprofit studio school, we rely on the generosity of our community of friends, local businesses, and the apparel industry to be able to provide scholarships and beyond-the-classroom experiences to prepare our students for success.
