The theatricality of dressing and conveying messages with our bodies and adornment fascinates me. So theater and costume design provides me with the perfect union of art, performance and character design.
I believe that we all have the ability to be creative, and that doing so brings us sublime joy. When I teach someone to draw or paint, I help them discover that creative spark within themselves.
My goal is to create clothing that woman can feel confident, empowered, and beautiful while wearing, and to make fashions that play a homage to a retro era without feeling like a costume.
I had been making my own clothes since the 7th grade. Teachers would say “you can’t do that, it’s too hard” and they would have my mom sign off on it that I could handle it!
My experience in the manufacturing industry has been a huge asset in my success as a buyer and manager. I’m still working at 70 years young!
I have combined my designing job with also being a tour guide on the island. I have found my passion in both worlds.
