Collection 2026 student info

All Level 2 and above students with completed garments from Summer 2025, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters are eligible to submit garments for consideration for the fashion show.  Here is some information to help you prepare for this experience:

PLEASE NOTE:  The Collection 2026 student fashion show is a large undertaking involving faculty and staff and many moving parts. Deadlines are important to be able to produce the show on time. Missed deadlines have a ripple effect on everyone’s work. Garments not completed to Fashion Show Directors’ approval by the deadlines will not be included in the 2026 show.

About Fashion Show garment review

SFD invites a guest panel to review final garments to ensure quality and runway readiness. Your garments must be complete and ready to be presented on a model or dress form. You are welcome to model the garment yourself or ask a fellow student or friend to model. You may also use a dress form. Students are expected to answer questions about your work themselves.

Be sure your garments are ready for Review

Your garments are expected to be ready to present to our Collection 2026 review panel. You are responsible for ensuring your garments:

  • Are finished

  • Have lingerie straps if needed, and can be properly hung on a hanger

  • Are pressed

Student roles and responsibilities for Fashion Show production

  • Students are expected to assist with throughout Production Week to the extent possible. We understand you have family and work responsibilities.

  • Students in Level 2 and above who are showing work will assist back stage as model dressers and any back stage production, as directed by Daniel

  • Students not showing work are asked to assist with “front of house” jobs during production week leading up to the show, and with setup and guest services jobs on the day of the show. Click HERE to view and sign up for student volunteer roles.

  • Chilton Club info:  On May 19, SFD has been invited to present Collection 2026 at a private event at the Chilton Club in Boston. There are additional student volunteer roles and expectations on this day. Please mark your calendar. See below for more info on the Chilton Club event expectations.

Collection 2026 Fashion Show dates and time   

Thursday May 14, 6-8pm,     31 St. James Ave., 6th floor

              6:00pm            Doors open
6:30pm            Graduation, Scholarships & Awards ceremony
              7:00pm            Collection 2026 Fashion Show

  • Please note: for the safety of our models, we will not be able to seat late arrivals.

  • SFD will send a welcome email a few days before the show to all guests who have purchased tickets in advance in order to orient guests to our location and parking information. We encourage students to also communicate clearly ahead of time with your guests information that will assist them with parking and on-time arrival.

  • There will be light appetizers and a cash bar available during the show

Fashion Show TICKETS       

  • Students are expected to “work” the show and therefore do not need a ticket.

  • ALL other guests must have a ticket

  • Tickets are $35 and available on Eventbrite

  • Get your tickets early. This event will sell out.

  • Tickets are General Admission. There is limited runway seating but plenty of standing room with good viewing throughout the space

  • Reserved seating is for SFD Board, show sponsors, and SFD invited guests only

  • Please contact SadieAnn if any of your guests require seating accommodations

  • Guests do not need to present tickets at the door; guests will be checked in by our greeters at the door under the name used to purchase tickets.

Graduates

Congratulations! You will receive 4 tickets to the Fashion Show; additional tickets are $35 and available on Eventbrite.  It is an SFD tradition for graduates to wear a white garment of their own making, if you choose. Please be sure you have emailed Anne (apellenq@sfdboston.org) with the correct spelling of how you would like your name to appear on your Certificate

Chilton club may 19 - important info!!

For the second time now, SFD has been invited to present student designs to roughly 100 members of the Chilton Club of Boston on Tuesday, May 19 at 4pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for you as designers and for SFD.  The Chilton Club is a 150 year old prestigious private women’s  club. Please take careful note of the dress code and other important details below.  If you are showing work in Collection 2026, we hope you will also be able to attend on May 19. Please let me know if you cannot be there.

What you need to know about the Chilton Club show:

1)  Show details

Please be aware that this show is by invitation to Chilton Club members only.  SFD participants are not permitted to bring guests. Also, all SFD staff and student/alumni designer participants are expected to assist backstage.  Students will not be seated for the member show.  Student designers are invited to attend a post-show cocktail reception to meet and mingle with Chilton Club members.

2)  Timing

If you plan to attend along with your garments, please plan to arrive at SFD on May 19 by Noon to help us transport garment racks to the Chilton Club.  It is a walk of several blocks to their location: 152 Commonwealth Ave, Boston

The doors open to guests at 3:30pm, and the show begins at 4:00 pm.
There will be a cocktail reception for SFD designers, models and Chilton Club members at 5:00 pm.

3) DRESS CODE – please read carefully!

All members, guests and visitors to the Chilton Club are expected to respect and adhere to their dress code:  Women wear dresses, skirts, tailored pants, dress pants or suits. Dresses and skirts must be longer than fingertip length. Leggings are acceptable but only if worn with an appropriate top of mid-thigh length such as a jacket, tunic or elegant sweater. Denim of any color and athleisure wear are not acceptable. Athletic footwear is also not permitted. Gentlemen shall wear a jacket with a collared shirt or turtleneck. Ties are optional. Traditional dress of a country, culture or religion is exempt from the dress code.

4)  Solicitation strictly prohibited

The Chilton Club has a strict policy about sales and solicitation. SFD will provide information about our student designers and our school programs to club member guests.  SFD designers should avoid directly promoting their work or social media handles to guests in conversation unless asked.

5)  No photos or social media

The quiet, discreet use of mobile and electronic devices, to include reading, viewing photographs, and checking calendars, is permitted in all public areas of the Club. Talking, texting, retrieving messages, or having a device audible in any manner is prohibited in all public rooms. Members and Visitors are directed to the telephone booths on the first floor for these uses. Earphones are not allowed in the public rooms. Mobile devices are not permitted at Club Programs and Events where all devices should be on silent mode and out of sight. No Member or Guest shall use the name, address, or photographs of the Club or its members for advertising, publicity, or media purposes. The social media publication of personal photographs taken on Club property is prohibited. Members and their guests are not permitted to photograph individuals in the Club without their express permission.
