The School of Fashion Design

Part of the Back Bay community since 1934

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, the School of Fashion Design (SFD) is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. We have proudly operated in the Back Bay for all of our 92 years.

SFD is currently leasing space on a month-month basis in the Park Square Building at 31 St. James Ave. We are seeking a leasing partner who believes in our mission and can help us establish a longer-term more permanent home, allowing us to remain part of the fabric of the Back Bay community.

What SFD brings as a partner

• Year-round classes, events, speakers and special programs to engage the community

• Fashion exhibitions and events to activate the space

• Programs offered day and evening to keep space active

• Over 100 adult students in our professional Certificate program

• 140+ participants in our standalone creative workshops

• Year-round programming serving more than 55 high school students

• Annual student fashion show draws over 200 attendees and sponsors from the local Boston business community

• Creative and accessible textile workshops for corporate team building

What we are looking for in a leasing partner

• 4200-5000 square feet of flexible and efficient space

• Larger rooms for classrooms plus smaller office and storage space

• $39-$43 / sq ft

• ADA accessible

• Access to freight elevator

• Opportunity for visible branding on street or in lobby
