FASHION BOSTON

On May 8th Boston Globe Media will launch the premiere issue of Fashion Boston, a new monthly magazine about the exciting trends, people, and events that are making Boston one of the country’s most vibrant fashion markets.

Taking advantage of a unique full broadsheet format, Fashion Boston will have an elegant and bold design that showcases some of the area’s best fashion photography, highlighting styles currently available at area fashion retailers as well as the work of talented local designers.

The new publication will be printed on high-quality bright stock with full-color throughout every page. The editorial tone will be sophisticated and fun, with special attention paid to what people in Boston currently are wearing.

“Fashion Boston celebrates the growing sense of fashion in Boston and the expansion of numerous luxury retailers into the market,” said Lucy Bartholomay, Managing Director/Product Innovation for Boston Globe Media. “The magazine will provide a beautiful, sophisticated, full-color advertising and editorial environment along with Boston Globe Media's ability to target the audience most sought after by advertisers.”

The magazine will be distributed monthly with The Boston Globe to more than 100,000 high-income households in Boston and the Western and South Shore suburbs, reaching a targeted audience of women who have high fashion-shopping indices.

NEW DESIGNER 411

As part of SFD's Designer Pot Luck series four alumni sat on a panel discussing what they've been faced with since graduating from SFD. Amy Ozay, Melissa Villa, Jess Myer and Joe Carl all provided insights into what a student can expect once they enter the industry, whether they start their own business or work for a designer. It meant so much to students to have them take time out of their busy schedules to share their experiences and advice!
