SFD enjoyed a
wonderful summer season of Fashion Fridays thanks to
generosity and
hard work of the team at Boston Event Guide and many
other industry professionals.
This series would
not have been possible without the help of supporters
like
Dynasty Models, a leading modeling agency in
Boston, that has been the face of the shows. Salon Marc Harris
and
Stila
added essential glamour and, of course, the
participating designers and boutiques.

NEW
CLASS: |
|
|
|
This is an exciting new art class that will be exploring
costume design for dance, television, film, theatre,
individual performers. There will also be a module on the use
of masks.
Each module will involve review of a case study which this
fall will involve the works of Alvin Ailey American Dance
Theater, Stephen Sondheim's musical Into the
Woods,
the George Cukor 1939 film adaptation of
Clare Boothe Luce's play
The Women, the television series Sex & The City,
a musical video history of Madonna and the
Pierre LeFevre Mask Class
at The Juilliard School.
Once the design challenges of each discipline has been
discussed, students design costumes and produce a collection
of sketches for a costume design portfolio. |
|
NEW CLASS |
|
|
|
Work with color and design to create original prints, weaves
and knits on the computer. Develop technical drawings of your
designs with a basic introduction to Adobe Illustrator. Use
draping software to see what your new fabrics will look like
on a digital image of a garment on the body.
Once you have designed a collection of textiles and applied
them to your designs presentation is addressed with
storyboards and cataloging. Class projects are designed to be
printed, recorded to a CD and/or posted on a website. |
