TUITION RATES
PART TIME TUITION IS $1,080 PER INDIVIDUAL COURSE 

AND FULL TIME TUITION (10 Courses) IS $10,800

  

Requirements for full-time study consideration. 

Five courses in September and/or January, four courses in June.

2. High school and, if applicable, college transcript(s).
3. Three letters of reference.
4. Personal interview (if residing within 100 miles of SFD; otherwise, optional).
5. Portfolio review (of art and/or sewing examples if applicable; otherwise, optional.

Day and/or evening, including summer sessions.

1. Registration Form.
2. $25 Application Fee.

  

International Applicants

Instruction at SFD is in English and a mastery of the language is necessary.  This school is authorized under Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.  International students in need of via processing (I-20 form) are required to prepay their first academic year's full tuition (ten courses/two semesters) and first year's required supplemental fees, supplies textbooks and kits.  Students are also required to present credentials in support of financial feasibility to live at least one academic year in Boston (sufficient funds for housing, food and other necessities).  SFD reminds international students that normally they may not be employed while in this country.

 

Financial Policies:
Tuition for full-time students is due and payable by the academic year (10 courses/30 credits) at the rate of $10,800 and according to a schedule:

 

For Incoming Freshman:

     - Acceptance Fee of $3,600.  (within 10 days of notification).

     - Tuition Deposit of $3,600(July 1 for September, November 1 for January,

       April 1 for June).

     - Tuition Balance of $3,600 (September 1, January 1, or June 1).

  

For Returning Advanced Students

     - Tuition Deposit of $5,400 (July 1, November 1 or April 1).

     - Tuition Balance of $5,400 (September 1, January 1, or June 1).

 
For Part-Time Students

Tuition is pro-rated at $1,080 per three credit course and is due and payable in full by the semester of study (September 1, January 1, or June 1).

 

Note: Tuition payments made after these dates are considered late and are subject to a $25 late charge.  No refunds of prepaid tuition for whatever reason (including cancellation, withdrawal, medical condition, etc.) and no cancellation of unpaid tuition obligations.   Prepaid tuitions are credited to specific courses and curriculum and, therefore, cannot be credited under any condition to other courses or for later curricula.
