ODJO VERDE
ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Faustina Andrade grew up with a strong background in fashion, stemming from a long line of seamstresses and tailors. Although, with all the opportunities of being a first generation Cape Verdian-American, she still ultimately chose design with a little encouragement.

Her grandfather, Serafim Andrade, was recognized as one of the first tailors in the Cape Verde Islands. He supported his family by making suits for government officials as well as the local villagers in exchange for work on his land. When looking at old family pictures, one thing always stood out, no matter how little money or severe the conditions - always look presentable. This has remained one of the primary inspirations for her designs - beautiful clothing, anytime, anywhere.

Upon graduation from the School of Fashion Design in Boston, she plans to work with her uncle in the Netherlands.
