Joe Carl is the designer for 'Carl Strong'. He was born in 1980 and grew up in New England. He became interested in fashion at the age of 18. He is currently studying at the School of Fashion Design on Newbury Street in Boston.

Joe’s good humor, enthusiasm and team spirit can be credited to a supportive family, loyal friends and the time he served as an Eagle Scout. These are many of the qualities he brought to his involvement as a volunteer during fashionWEEK BOSTON in 2003.

His design philosophy has been influenced by a desire to create contemporary fashions that are affordable.

Another source of inspiration for his work has been the two years that he lived in Russia.
