Students from around the globe attend the School of Fashion Design!  We are proud of the diversity of our student population and consider it an important part of the student experience at SFD.

Application procedures for international students are the same as those for US born students.  The only additional requirements for international students are:

    •    You will be asked to submit financial documents, such as a bank statement in English, verifying your ability to reside in the US for at least one year, and

    •    You are required to prepay first year tuition and fees in full.

Per the Department of Homeland Security international students are required to register with SEVIS. The School of Fashion Design is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students with an M-1 status. International students in need of visa processing (I-20 form) are required to prepay their first academic year's full tuition (ten courses/two semesters) and first year's required supplemental fees, supplies textbooks and kits.  Students are also required to present credentials in support of financial feasibility to live at least one academic year in Boston (sufficient funds for housing, food and other necessities).  SFD reminds international students that normally they may not be employed while in this country.
TOEFEL scores are not required to attend, however, instruction at SFD is conducted in English and a mastery of the language is necessary.

The School of Fashion Design does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.
